In 2022 and 2023, Ray was an assistant coach on MCLL 11U and 12U MD state championship teams. Supporting underserved communities and helping grow Little League in Africa has also been a longtime passion of Ray's. He has served as a mentor at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy since 2014. From 2017-19, Ray initiated four trips to Africa - twice each to Nigeria and Kenya - and was awarded a certificate for his work in the Nairobi Kibera Slum initiative. Relatedly, Ray has spearheaded an MCLL campaign to donate used equipment to Little League in Cameroon. Along with three other MCLL coaches, Ray in 2017 co-founded the Bethesda Blue Rays parallel travel league program, which has enhanced and contributed to the MCLL all star success.
